yes, believe it or not but it's time for the next Bloggers Quilt Festival on Amy's Creative Side and I can't wait to check out all the lovely quilts that are entered.
I decided to enter my reversible QAYG Flora Quilt as I consider this my greatest achievement of the last few months. It took me forever and made me curse out loud so many times. Well, maybe getting a bit of recognition for it from my fellow quilters will help me get over the trauma. :)
But finally this quilt is finished, it honestly almost broke my back and brought me to the brink of giving up on quilting altogether. It was a nightmare to make and ended up being much bigger than I am normally comfortable with. (we have a tiny tiny flat which means I find it almost impossible to make larger quilts).
Once again I made a reversible quilt with 2 very different designs on front and back. On the front I used lots of colorful Phillip Jacobs fabrics and on the back I used Flora and Fauna fabrics by Patty Young, one of my favorite lines of all time.
But it is done and that will be the last QAYG project for a while. Well, let's see.
I hope you like it. I'd love it if you could nominate this quilt.
It is entirely pieced and quilted by myself on a domestic sewing machine.
Special technique: Quilt as you go - reversible - 2 in 1 Quilt
Lots of love,
The back (or front??? I can never decide which is back and front, but from the way it was intended and sewn this would be the back)
and the front again:
