Hello everyone,
yes, believe it or not, 2 blog posts in the same week, incredible, eh?
I have a few different items for you today. I have also been working on my heart garlands as those are very popular and everyone keeps suggesting I should make some in different colorways. So that's what I did. I created 13 different types of garlands and today I'll share just a few. Some are fairly monochromatic and some combine colors which I thought go well together. Let me know what you think about these. I will share some more with you another day.
Lots of love, Nadine

The first load of finishes for 2018
Hello everyone,
yes, it's that time again when I finish a whole pile of projects all at once (happens usually about 3 times a year) and upload them all in the shop. I can't possibly share all of these quilts and other items in one post, there are simply way too many. So I will start with a few quilts today and share some more with you another day. Yes, you will have to be patient!
Ok so here goes. These 5 quilts are all very different and some of them took me forever to make. The Echo quilt for instance has been giving me such headaches and in the end I decided to make it smaller to actually be able to finish it.
The Kona quilt is a new love for me and as you will see I am using more and more solids and want to explore quilting with just solids a bit more. I have also been getting into more neutral colors, I know, very unusual for me. Normally my quilts scream of color. So watch this space, there will be more like that.
All quilts are already in the shop: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/QuiltedBlissByNadine
I hope you like these and watch out for the next lot of posts. I have so much more to share with you.
Lots of love, Nadine
Kona solids quilt with black velvet backing, I really want to make more solids quilts:
Flora baby quilt
Chevrons quilt in peach and grey (I am really getting into the neutrals color schemes atm)
Echo quilt
Blue triangles quilt (my favorite color combo: teal and lime)

Plans for 2018?
Hello all,
I currently have no WiPs and am trying to decide where to go from here. I have tons of fabric so one of my intentions for 2018 is definitely to work with my stash and maybe even destash some more fabrics I think I might not use (see instagram for current destash items).
https://www.instagram.com/thiscreativebliss/
I also am thinking I might try something new and will experiment a bit with more modern minimalist designs. I think I will use more solids
and will maybe even make some two or three toned quilts, something that would fit into a very modern home such as this one:
Or this one: https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/204773114291730774/ or this one https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/204773114291730618/
What do you think? What should I make and what do you think would sell in my Etsy shop? I am determined to sell more and am happy to try some new designs this year.
Lots of love and happy sewing,
Nadine

4 New Quilts
Hello all,
I have just listed a few new quilts, well not so new quilts, but mainly ones I just haven't shared with anyone.
The first one is a quilt that was published in Quilt Now, a baby quilt.
The second one is my Star Quilt, also featured in Quilt Now.
And the last 2 quilts are new quilts that are a bit larger than my usual quilts and ones I will be very sad to let go.
The Totem Quilt (love the swirls quilting)
The Tipi Quilt

Travelling Quilts
Hello everyone
and please accept my apologies for neglecting the blog for so long, I think I haven't actually been on blogger for a few months now. I have to say it just doesn't come naturally anymore to post blog posts when it is so much easier to just post something on Instagram. It's all about the photos anyway. But even on Instagram I have been following people more than actually posting things myself. I know, how can anyone see my quilts if I don't share them.
So here is just a quick update on what I have been up to.
I have just sold a quilt to a customer in Sweden who wants it shipped to Barcelona, which just reminded me that my quilts have travelled far and many now live all over the world. I really want to make a map that shows where they all have gone to. So will have to work on that. Maybe I get one of those scratch maps, they look lovely.
I have also been very busy making more quilts but I keep forgetting to actually share them on here or on social media. So here is a quick overview (and there are many more that you can see in the shop):
So what's in store for 2018?
I often get requests from potential customers who are asking for larger quilts or larger versions of the quilts I have and I really struggle to make larger quilts as I cannot baste them in our house unless they are a reasonable size (I know, we just need a bigger house, but for that I will need to sell A LOT more quilts:).
So I am wondering what sizes most people would prefer and how do I consolidate the difference between UK and US sizes?
Would it be easiest to make larger throwsized quilts that would at least fit on a Twin bed?
Let me know if you have any advice on this. It would be greatly appreciated. And feel free to communicate on the other platforms if those are easier for you.
My sewing machines
.. both struggling and constantly breaking down (and the third little travel machine I can't use as I simply cannot manage to thread it, my eyes are just not good enough for that, especially in dark winter lighting conditions). So I think I might have to get a new machine, the ones I have are quite old now and have done a lot of work over the years.
And what about Art?
Well, that is another plan for the year, I definitely feel the urge to paint more and also draw and get back into illustration. So watch this space.
I promise I will post a bit more often from now on but we'll have to see how it goes. I will probably need a reminder here and there.
Lots of love,
Nadine
