I know it has been a while. I have been busy and not complaining about it.

But another things has happened which I have not shared with you yet. As of 11/9 I am a British Citizen. I arrived in the UK exactly 17 years ago, to the day of my citizenship ceremony, so it was just about time I become British and get the right to vote. I have been in this country contributing to society, paying my taxes and welfare contributions for 17 years and could not vote in national elections, no way could I go on like that for much longer.

MAYSALE because it's SPRING

I know we are all a bit depressed and the weather has been causing havoc for so long we are all desperate for some sunshine and blue skies. Well, it currently isn't looking too good and the heavens have opened up again to drown us in cold windy buckets of water.

So if this isn't the best time for a sale to brighten our spirits then I don't know what. So to celebrate May and get the sun to come out finally after such a long winter I have added a lot of colorful items, especially baby quilts, to the sale category and they are all 10% off.

Christmas in July SALE

Ho Ho Ho,

yep, it's that time of year. We are now on the side of the year that takes us straight to Christmas. And what better way to celebrate that than with a SALE. Everything in the shop is 10% off from today until 20 July and I have also listed the last few advent calendars again in case someone wants to be super prepared for December and have them ready. 

 

I am currently taking it a bit slow with the sewing and am working on lots of hexies, prepping papers at the moment really. As we don't have a car and my sewing machines are quite big and clunky and OLD, too old to take them on the train to Leeds and cart them through the city centre, so for that reason I can only do hand work at our Leeds Modern Quilt Guild meetings, so hexies it is from now to eternity. :)

I will show you some of them soon and also the other new quilts and cushions. (If you're curious feel free to check them out in the shop as I have already listed them.)

More finishes and an EASTER SALE

Hello all,

believe it or not, but yes, I have finished a few more quilts. Now don't think I work that fast, that's not it. It just happens this way that I finish a whole pile of quilts at once because of the way I stagger the different jobs that need to be done. I had a pile of pieced and finished quilt tops and then had to baste them all (about 10 I think) and then I quilted them all one by one and then did the binding. The reason for that is Jane, my Janome quilting machine, as I work with a different machine when I quilt and do all my piecing and binding on the old machine I need to wait and do all my quilting at once because I don't want to move the machines around so much.

So there you have it, I always have several quilts on the go and then I finish quite a few around the same time.

And here we go, another 3 finishes, hurrah.

I hope you like these. The Tulips quilt is quite different from what I normally make and I am really happy with it. I really enjoyed the quilting too, only focusing on the negative space was great fun.

And the red, yellow, blue Baby Jane quilt was quilted in straight lines and I absolutely love the modern look and feel that gives the quilt.

Oh and not to forget, I still have the Easter SALE on in the shop. There is 15% off everything until after Easter.

More new quilts and a Spring and Easter SALE

Hello all,

we just spent a few days in Bruges for the Monkey's birthday present and it was so lovely, sunny and warm and just a gorgeous spring atmosphere with people cycling wearing spring dresses and sandals.

... and then we just returned today to this drab English muck, fog, cooooold and just depressing. So grateful for my lovely quilts and fabrics that always brighten up my day, no matter how horrible the weather.

So here we go, I have added a few more new quilts to the shop and am still working on a number of other UFOs. It just never ends, I have so many projects on the go and it seems I have to work on them in piles. Several quilts pieced, then I baste and quilt several at once (mainly also because I have to switch machines for that) and then I bind them all in one go. I am currently binding the last one of 4 more quilts which I can hopefully share with you soon.

But here are the last few finishes:

Birthday Celebration and a 35% SALE

Yep, I am getting old next week and you did see that right, I am celebrating with a 35% SALE in both shops, from today until the 31st of August, because let's face it, at some point I need to accept that I am now closer to 40 than 30 and I could use some of that lovely cake to ease the pain.



Being 35 can't be that much worse than 34, or can it?
