Art Print Treasury

Hello everyone,

I have made a treasury with only items from my art shop for a change. I like the mosaic effect it creates, a good way to display more than one print at the same time. I hope you like it.

Hope you're enjoying the sunshine.

Flea Market Fancy

Hello all,

look what has arrived yesterday. I got my set of Flea Market Fancy Legacy reprint fabrics from Hawthorne Threads and they finally arrived. yay. Now what do I do with them?

I have to come up with things to make for my first craft fair in Seaham, Dawdon Community Centre, on 5 May.

Any suggestions? I am thinking more Owls, and Penguins, but what fabrics to use?

And what about quilts? I have been making smaller quilts lately but wonder whether I should have larger ones at the stand too? I have also started using super soft fleece for the backs of my baby quilts lately, rather than making reversible quilts like in the past. Maybe I should go back to making reversible ones again?

Any help and advice is very welcome.

Hope you're enjoying the weather.

Lots of love,
Nadine

Current Fabric Crushes

You know how I said, I am not craving any fabrics and haven't bought any for some time?

......................... Well, those days are over. I am full on in fabric craving mode and wish I could buy all of these and then some. I haven't really invested in any fabrics in ages (apart from some white and snow Kona) and avoided all websites that would get me interested in fabric shopping again. .... Until I came across that gorgeous quilt by Elephantstitches using Laurie Wisbrun's Brrr and bang, I was all back crusing the web and drooling all these lovely fabrics. If we win the lottery I'll get full sets of all of these.

Patty Young's Lush, the woman can't do wrong

Laurie Wisbrun's Brrr as seen in this gorgeous quilt by Elephantstitches

Khristian A. Howell's the Woodlands

Joel Dewberry's Heirloom

oh and not to forget Patty Young's re-release of Andalucia

Which fabric collections are you crushing on at the moment? I honestly have not been paying attention to what's trendy right now, so I really don't know what is happening in the world of fabric.

So anything you think I should definitely check out?

Lots of love

Work in progress - How to quilt?

In preparation for my craft show in May I've decided to make some more small items cos I doubt quilts sell well at craft shows. So I started working on these placemats using some Meadowsweet. But once again I can't decide how to quilt them, which color thread to use and which quilt pattern.

Any suggestions?

Dreaming in French Quilt finished

Hello everyone,

I have just finished my "Dreaming in French Quilt" and can't wait to show you, I LOOOOOOOVVE it, the colors really zing and I am very happy with my decision to use Kona Espresso to contrast the sorbet shades in Pat Bravo's Dreaming in French fabrics.

I did something different with the quilting this time. I can't do any free-motion quilting on my machine (can't lower the feed dogs and the clip-on plastic shield does not leave enough room for a quilt) so I suppose wavy circles and lines likes these is as far as I can get away from straight lines.

I am very happy with the look though and it feels great on the fluffy fleece on the back. I was undecided for a long time on the color for the back until I chose the burgundy colored fleece which really compliments the fabrics without overpowering them (as a hot pink would have for instance).

So what do you think? Yay or ney?

Take care,
Nadine xx

Spring Baby Quilt

Hello everyone,

it seems the sun is trying really hard to come out and just in time I have finally finished my latest baby quilt. I used some lovely Riley Blake fabrics and a super soft and fluffy orange fleece on the back. And I am really happy with the quilting, I went for slightly wavy lines and really like the look and how they contrast the blocks in the design.

What do you think? Will this coerce the sun out from behind her clouds?

I hope you like it.
Have a lovely weekend and please eat all your food, I need the sun to come out properly so I can take some decent photos of quilts and paintings to list in the Etsy shops.

Lots of love
