Hello all,
I am entering this quilt (these quilts) in the Blogger's Quilt Festival on Amy's Creative Side in the Original Design category. So please please VOTE FOR ME.
I originally wanted to make a whole world map quilt but realized it would be too big and I wouldn't be able to baste and quilt it. So I decided to make 2 quilts and split the world in half. (No, there is not political undertone here, not an intentional one anyway).
I ended up with one quilt showing the Western World, the Americas and Europe and the Eastern World with Russia and Asia. In case you are wondering, yes I am planning to try and create one world map with this design but I will have to work with much smaller pieces to make that work. The quilting is slightly different on them, the Western World has big wavy lines on it and I quuilted the eastern World in straight vertical lines.
I hope you like these quilts. I absolutely love them.
I have listed them in the shop https://www.etsy.com/shop/QuiltedBlissByNadine where you can see some more pictures of them.
Lots of love, Nadine
Very creative. Can't wait to see it in one piece, as well.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. I'm looking forward to seeing your version of the world all together!
ReplyDeleteOk - that's awesome! Love the concept and execution!
ReplyDeletethey look great, the bold colours are striking. The squares would have to be quite small to fit the whole world on one quilt, I suppose.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, love what you did with the colours too.
ReplyDeleteThat is really cool idea! Very creative and great use of color.
ReplyDeleteWildly creative, and wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI like it a quilt! Beautifully! Original! Great!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! This would be cool as a double sided quilt - western continents on the front and eastern continents on the back! I love how it is pixelated, but not hugely so. Nice work.
ReplyDeletethey are great! Love them :-)
ReplyDeleteI love it! I like how you converted an irregular world into a grid!
ReplyDeleteI love this! I have been scheming of a world map using triangles so I am super excited to see yours. I love map quilts so much! Love the idea of flipping it over and having the other half of the world.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun quilt! Great idea and execution!
