I have finally finished my Bookshelf Quilt, pheeewww, only took me a few months, but it was worth it, I absolutely adore it and will think really hard whether I can bear to put it in the Etsy shop.
It's another reversible quilt with the Tradewindows quilt on the back made with Tradewinds fabric by Lily Ashbury for Moda and it's another Quilt-as-you-go project. I love the result, I could never quilt so densely if I had to quilt the whole quilt. Even on my new machine (yay!) it will take me lots and lots of practice until I can Free Motion Quilt a whole quilt like that.
I am participating in Lynne's Fresh Sewing Day on her blog Lily's Quilts again so go and have a browse thorugh all the other amazing blogs. Will have to go pop over and snoop around all those lovely blogs myself.
Lots of love from York,
Nadine xx
Wow the quilt is stunning! No wonder you don't want to sell it! I'd keep it if I were you =D
ReplyDeleteIt is a wonderful quilt! It is my belief that the back of. Quilt should be as interesting as the front and you accomplished that very well. Great job! You should keep it if it tugs on your heart strings? :)
ReplyDeleteWhoa, love your quilt - terrific on both sides!
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt Nadine! Every detail is a beautiful work of color and the quilting looks great! As to what you said over at my blog about FMQ, practice lots and don't judge your stuff too harshly at first! At some point you just sort of get the rhythm of it. I'm looking forward to seeing more!
ReplyDeleteHello, I've come over from Lily's small blog list! Absolutely love your book quilt, not one I'd part with if it were me :-)
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm visiting you for the first time via Lily's Small Blog Meet, and I've just added myself to your followers. I love your Bookshelf Quilt, in fact I can't decide if I like the front or back best.
