Hello all,
finally a few more finished items. I have 2 table runners for you, one small baby stroller quilt and another Precious Panda.
The table runners were made with Kona solids and are completely reversible with a very different design on the back. I love the effect and I don't know about you, but I love reversible items and being able to turn them around when I want something new. They look great on a modern table (unfortunately, we don't actually have a dining table so I could not take photos of them on a proper big table.)
And as you can see, these were some of my first projects quilted on Jane using Free Motion Quilting and I am quite proud of myself of finally being able to do that. One was done in a regular meandering stippling effect, the other one in a flat swirl design.
The Stroller Quilt was made with "Little Apples" by Aneela Hooey and some gorgeous soft olive green fleece on the back.
And of course here is Mr. Panda.
I hope you like these. They are all available in the shop.
Lots of love,
Nadine

Bloggers' Quilt Festival - Reversible QAYG Bookshelf Quilt
Hello all,
and welcome to all you lovely guests who made it over here from Amy's Bloggers' Quilt Festival. Please mingle and say hello (and maybe stay and become a follower even, that would be great :)
Today I am sharing my finished Bookshelf Quilt with you, pheeewww, only took me a few months, but it was worth it, I absolutely adore it and will think really hard whether I can bear to put it in the Etsy shop. It's a generous lap quilt size of 48" x 58".
This is another reversible quilt with Kaffe Fasset fabrics on the top and the Tradewindows quilt on the back made with Tradewinds fabric by Lily Ashbury for Moda. This quilt is another Quilt-as-you-go project like several of my other quilts too.
I love the result, I could never quilt so densely if I had to quilt the whole quilt. Even on my new machine (yay!) it will take me lots and lots of practice until I can Free Motion Quilt a whole quilt like that.
I am participating in Amy's Blogger's Quilt Festival again so go and have a browse through all the other amazing blogs. Will have to go pop over and snoop around all those lovely blogs myself.
Lots of love from York,
Nadine xx

Current Fabric Crushes
Oh I was so determined to not get swayed and not buy any fabrics for a long long time. I really have enough fabrics and of course I can't afford to spend money just now.
But I did make the mistake to LOOK, ... looking might just be the end of me, of my bank account that is. But I fell in love with these gorgeous fabric collections.
I am tempted but fingers crossed I can stay strong.
What are your current fabric crushes?
Love, Nadine

Flame - Fashion Illustration by Steve
Hello all,
I have just listed Steve's latest Fashion Illustration print, a gorgeous mixed media painting he called "Flame".
I absolutely love it. He has such a good feel for conveying character in his portraits. The hair looks airy and the contrast is stunning, he has a really good eye for color too.
What do you think?

Pandas and Zen Quilts
Hello everyone,
I have finally finished my quilting. As I don't have enough room for both my sewing machines on the table, I have decided to do my piecing first and then do a whole batch of Free Motion Quilting on Jane, making sure I carefully move the sewing machines around, and I have just finished 6 projects on Jane. The binding took me a while too. I tend to do that while watching the telly although it really annoys TOH as we can't watch any foreign movies with subtitles (our favorite) while I bind.
So tada, I present 2 of the finished quilts. Both have been listed in the Etsy shop. First a baby quilting using Kate Spain's Cuzco and quilting done in a stippling pattern in variegated threads in orange, pink, purple and blue. I am really getting into Free Motion Quilting, it's so much fun and I am starting to get a hang of it. I think my quilting can still improve a lot but I am quite happy with these first attempts at FMQ.
The second quilt is my Zen Quilt using fabrics from the Juggling Summer collection by Zen Chic for Moda and some Summersville by Lucie Summers for Moda. This one was quilted using swirls patterns and I absolutely love the effect. At first I was a bit worried how the quilting would turn out but I am really happy with the result, it looks great on the quilt.
I am also introducing 2 of my new Precious Pandas, one using some gorgeous Alexander Henry floral fabric in black and white.
And the second one using some black and white Zebra fabric which I really love.
I have recently gone crazy over black and white fabrics and have added loads of those to my stash, inspired by Elizabeth Hartman's gorgeous quilts. So watch this space, there will be more black and white coming soon.
What do you think, do you like my new quilts and Pandas?
Lots of love,
Nadine

The Birds and the Bees
Remember when I confessed on Facebook that I broke my promise not to buy any new fabrics, and ho guilty I felt ove rit? Well, this is the gorgeous new fabrics I bought. They have finally arrived and to be honest, I can't really feel so guilty abotu it anymore, they are so lovely.
The Birds and the Bees by Tula Pink, I got the whole collection in FQ and now just have to decide what to do with them. i will probably not cut into them for a while. I tend to just drool over my favorite collections without actually using them. I still have the whole Hope Valley Collection, Sanctuary and all the other Patty Young Collections untouched.
But if I have a clear project in mind I might be more inclined to use it.
Hm, what shall I do?
Lots of love,
Nadine

Fashion Illustration Disco
Hello all,
I have just listed what has become my favorite one of Steve's paintings in the art shop. This one is absolutely gorgeous, well so are the others of course. It makes me want to print it as a much larger poster for hanging it on the wall. Unfortunately, we can only print A4 on our Epson art printer. Maybe we should really invest in an A3 printer.
The color is perfect and the lines are so crip. I don't know if these images really do it justice.
I hope you like it.
Love, Nadine

Audreyesque number 3
Hello all,
I have another Audreyesque painting of Steve's to show you. He has been busy and I promise there will be more to come.
I have also decided to put all 3 prints as a set in the shop as they go so well together.
What do you think? Do you like them? I think they are gorgeous. He really has a thing for portrait paintings. I took a few portrait classes at the Edinburgh College of Art a few years ago and stillc an't compete with that.
Lots of love, Nadine
